Two people can sail the same ship on the same week and have completely different holidays. The difference is usually the itinerary’s balance of sea days to port days, and where on the ship the cabin sits — above a nightclub, under the pool deck, forward in a swell, or somewhere quiet in the middle.
Cruise fares also behave unlike other travel: a deposit now, a final payment date months later, and a cancellation schedule that steps up sharply as you approach sailing. Knowing those dates is most of the planning.
GoTripWay is an independent travel service provider. We do not own or operate ships. Bookings are made with the cruise line, whose passenger ticket contract governs the voyage.
How many sea days, how long in each port, whether the ship docks in the town or tenders passengers ashore, and whether the arrival time actually allows the excursion you had in mind.
We look at what sits above and below the cabin, how far it is from lifts and lounges, whether a balcony is obstructed, and where motion is felt least.
Flights arranged to arrive with a real buffer before sailing — usually the night before — because a ship will not wait for a delayed connection.
Fare, port charges, taxes, gratuities where they are automatic, and a realistic view of what drinks, wifi and excursion packages add.
Benefits
Position on the ship affects sleep, motion and noise more than cabin grade does. We choose for both.
You get the final payment date and the cancellation penalty schedule in writing at the time of deposit.
Arrival buffers built in, so a delay costs you an afternoon rather than the cruise.
What is actually achievable between docking and all-aboard, allowing for tender times.
How it works
Nothing is reserved and nothing is charged until you say so.
Where you want to sail, roughly when, and whether you want port-heavy days or sea days to do nothing on.
A handful of sailings with the port schedule, ship size and total cost, so you can compare like for like.
We select the cabin against the deck plan and build the flights and pre-cruise hotel around the embarkation time.
Deposit taken by the cruise line, final payment date confirmed to you in writing, documents issued ahead of sailing.
Travel information
Practical detail, not filler. Every item here is something that has cost a traveller money or a departure.
The ship sails on schedule whether or not your flight arrived. A pre-cruise hotel night is the cheapest insurance on the whole trip.
If anyone in the party is prone to seasickness, position matters far more than cabin category.
Missing it can cancel the booking and forfeit the deposit. It is the single most consequential date in a cruise reservation.
Where the ship anchors offshore, getting ashore takes time and can be cancelled outright in poor weather. Plan those days loosely.

FAQ
No. GoTripWay is an independent booking assistance service. Cruise bookings are made with the cruise line, and the line’s passenger ticket contract governs the voyage.
It varies by line and sailing, commonly between 60 and 120 days before departure. We confirm your exact date in writing when the deposit is taken and remind you before it falls due.
It is usually a good idea, because we can then build the arrival buffer around the embarkation time rather than hoping two separate bookings line up.
Typically accommodation, main dining and most onboard entertainment. Gratuities, speciality dining, drinks packages, wifi and shore excursions are usually extra. We set out what is and is not included before you book.
Cruise lines reserve the right to change the itinerary, most often for weather or safety. Any remedy is governed by the line’s ticket contract. We will help you understand what applies to your booking.
