Refund Policy
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for travel arranged through GoTripWay, who actually holds and returns your money, and what to expect on timing.

01The provider controls the refund
This is the single most important thing to understand. When you book travel through us, your money goes to the provider delivering the service — the airline, rail operator, hotel, car rental company or cruise line — or to their authorised payment processor.
That provider therefore holds the funds and decides, under the terms of the specific fare, rate or contract you booked, whether a refund is due and how much. We do not hold your travel funds and cannot issue a refund the provider has not authorised.
What we can do is tell you the terms before you commit, submit the request on your behalf, and chase it.
02Know the terms before you pay
Every quote we give you includes the cancellation and change conditions attached to it. You will have those in writing before any payment is discussed.
If a fare or rate is non-refundable, we will say so plainly rather than burying it. If a cheaper option is non-refundable and a slightly more expensive one is flexible, we will show you both and let you weigh it.
03Typical provider conditions
- Flights — refundability depends entirely on the fare class. Many of the lowest fares are non-refundable, though government taxes and some charges may still be recoverable. Change fees vary widely.
- Rail — advance and saver fares are usually non-refundable and tied to a specific departure. Flexible fares generally can be refunded or changed.
- Hotels — free cancellation is common up to a stated deadline in the property’s local time, after which one night or the full stay may be charged. Prepaid rates are frequently non-refundable from the moment of booking.
- Car rental — pay-later bookings can usually be cancelled without charge; prepaid rates often carry a cancellation fee, particularly close to pick-up.
- Cruises — a graduated penalty schedule normally applies, stepping up as the sailing date approaches, with the deposit at risk from an early stage. Missing the final payment date can cancel the booking outright.
04When the provider cancels
If a provider cancels or materially changes a service, your entitlement is set by their contract and by applicable consumer and passenger-rights law, which in some cases requires a refund or re-routing at your choice.
Call us. We will help you identify what you are entitled to, submit the claim and follow it up.
05Our service fees
Where a service fee has been disclosed to you and you have authorised it, it covers the research, booking and coordination work carried out. That work is not undone by a later cancellation, so service fees are generally non-refundable once the booking has been made.
If we have not yet made a booking, or if a booking fails because of an error on our part, any fee charged is refunded in full.
The amount and refundability of any fee is always disclosed to you in writing before you authorise it.
06How to request a refund
- Call +1 (855) 388-3640 or email support@gotripway.site with your booking reference.
- Tell us what you want to cancel and whether it is the whole itinerary or part of it.
- We check the applicable terms and tell you what refund, if any, is due before submitting anything.
- We submit the request to the provider and confirm to you in writing that it has been submitted.
- We follow up if the provider’s stated timeframe passes without resolution.
07How long refunds take
Timing is set by the provider and the payment method, and can range from a few days to several weeks. Cruise and some international air refunds are typically at the longer end.
We will give you the provider’s stated timeframe when the request is submitted. If it passes, tell us and we will chase.
08Chargebacks
If you are considering a card chargeback, please talk to us first. A chargeback raised while a refund is already being processed can freeze the claim and delay your money rather than speed it up.
